Billing and Insurance
Elm Street Pediatrics accepts a wide variety of health insurances, PPO's and HMO's. In total, we are contracted with over 40 different plans. Some popular carriers include BCBS, Cigna, Aetna, United Healthcare, PHCS, Unicare, and Humana. Because there are so many different plans out there these days, it is always your responsibility to check with your plan and ensure that they are in fact contracted with out office.
When you see us for an office visit, your insurance carrier is billed directly, but the copay will be due at the time of the visit. Please bring your most recent insurance card to each appointment to ensure we keep up-to-date.
If you have just enrolled in a new plan, and your cards haven't arrived yet, please bring the following information to our office:
Hutech Resources can be reached at (630) 285-1040 and performs many of our billing tasks. They can answer most questions you may have on your account. If you have questions about bills or insurance claims, please contact our office or call the number on your statement to talk with them.
Finally, we know how confusing and frustrating health care coverage can be. We will do the best we can to make sure visits and charges are covered by your insurance when appropriate. If you have specific questions regarding billing or charges that are on your account, please do not hesitate to speak directly with your pediatrician.

HIPAA and Your Privacy
On April 14, 2003, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) took effect. HIPAA is federal legislation that standardizes methods of insurance filing, untangling a mess that has grown in the evolution of the internet in the healthcare field. However, a large part of this legislation protects patients and their healthcare information. While we have always taken extra steps to protect the privacy of our patients, HIPAA requires us to document our policies. We have developed a comprehensive privacy policy, which you may pick up at the office.
