Congratulations to Dr Levin on the birth of his daughter, Hallie Sophia Levin, who arrived at 6:01 PM on Tuesday, August 16.  At birth, Hallie was 7 pounds 12 ounces, and was 19.25 inches long.  She did great in the hospital and went home on the 18th of August.  Hallie has been doing well since, and as the daughter of two pediatricians, is in good hands for sure!  Dr Levin will be taking some time off to be with his family, but plans to return to the office later next week.
 
We Have Moved! 07/24/2011
 
Please note, we have moved!!  After months of discussing, planning, organizing, and re-organizing, we have finally moved our office.  Don't fear, we have not gone far.  We are just 1.5 blocks away, on Lincoln Avenue one block north of the Lincoln/ Elm intersection and one block East of Green Bay Road.

Our office is located on the ground floor at 572 Lincoln Avenue, Suite #3.  Suites #1 and #2 are located on the street; our office is off the street, to the back of the courtyard.

Parking is available both on the street in front of the office, and in the parking lot on the northwest side of our office.  See here for details.

We are still putting the finishing touches on the office, but we are excited about it, and look forward to seeing you there.  Office hours continue at the new location on Monday, July 25th, and are the same as they have been all year.  Thanks for your patience with the move.

Good news!  We are moving to a new and bigger space this summer!  We anticipate moving in late June or early July.  We will NOT be changing our name, and will still be known as Elm Street Pediatrics.  The new location is at 572 Lincoln Avenue, suite #3, which is one block north and one block west of our current location.  It is in the same gallery building as the former Salon Millenium and across the street from the old Cafe Aroma location.  Our office will be located on the ground floor, just off the street towards the back.  Here are some photos of our new building; in the right hand photo, our office will be to the right of the columns in the middle of the frame:

As a prelude to an exciting 2011 at Elm Street Pediatrics -- stay tuned for details -- we are unveiling our newly designed website.  We hope you like it, as we have spent much time on its design.  We have tried to make it kid-friendly, user-friendly, and useful... and most exciting is our Art Gallery, where we are posting drawings of our office done by our patients.  Please offer any feedback you may have as we are always looking to improve our website!
 
 
As many of you know, the flu vaccine for 2010-2011 flu season is already here.  Many children (and some parents) have been getting their flu vaccines at their yearly check-ups, which is great.  The other option is at our family-friendly flu clinics, which are a great and easy option to quickly get the entire family vaccinated against the influenza virus.  We have set our October flu clinic schedule, which is as follows:
  • October 5, October 14, October 16, October 19, October 21, and October 26
  • you may call the front desk anytime to schedule for these clinics at 847-501-4040...
  • ...and yes, we are happy to vaccinate parents as well
One final note: this years influenza vaccine is a COMBINATION VACCINE, covering BOTH the H1N1 strain AND the typical yearly expected strains of influenza.

Evangeline Taylor, a PA who had been with us for the past 3 and a half years, finishes this week as her last week in our office.  She was a great asset to our office, and we loved having her around.  Many of her patients loved seeing her as well.  Unfortunately for us, her husband has taken a new job in Ohio, and her family will be moving there in the near future.  We will all greatly miss Evangeline, thank her for all of her hard work, and we wish her the best of luck in the future at her new job!!
